Powerlifting – Sport That Knows No Bounds
Powerlifting is a sport that involves three disciplines: squat, bench press and lift. The aim is to raise as more weight to all three events in three attempts in each event, thereby respecting certain rules and signs of judges.
The best and successful attempts in each discipline are added together and then used to rank the candidates according to certain criteria. The competition may be organized as a “raw” – that is, without the use of equipment and “equipped”.
As there is no main organization in the powerlifting, there are a large number of federations that organize powerlifting competition and promote the sport itself. Although the rules are similar in most federations, there are certain exceptions specific to each federation individually.
